Hey! I’m Kim. Just your typical American mom and wife. I just happen to have been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma. I made this blog for several reasons: 1. To make sense of all this cancer business 2. To give help and hope to other people facing trials 3. To keep my loved ones updated during the process of surgery, chemo, treatments, etc 4. To bring awareness to melanoma and put an end to the myth that it’s “just” skin cancer. 5. Most importantly, to glorify God! He is an amazing presence and an amazing comfort in our times of need and this is something that deserves to be shouted from the rooftops! Or blogged about….

Hi Kim,
I am a fellow Stage 3b Nodular Melanoma warrior and administrator of http://www.facebook.com/TheCancerSPOT and youtube videos “My journey with defeating Stage 3b Nodular Malignant Melanoma” First I made videos on youtube to raise awareness, tell my story, and give glory to God as well. However, after sometime I felt I wasn’t making a difference so I started my page then October 2012. I started my page to raise melanoma awareness, inspire, and add humor to all that follow my page. I am so sorry that you have become a member of the melanoma community. I found your blog after reading Rev. Carol Taylor post on http://www.facebook.com/MelanomaPrayerCenter of a blog, page, and video list. I have a strong faith in God and know that He alone holds my future as well as yours. I have experienced so many blessings and victories because of God’s amazing grace! Even though, this journey has been so trying at times I would never want to change anything because God has showed his incredible power and glory through my journey! Keep your focus on Him because He will never let you down. I started my melanoma journey on 11/21/11 with a mole on my upper left leg and went through wide excision, inguinal lymph node dissection, 10 months of Interferon treatment, numerous hospital stays, 2 month nursing home stay, and currently undergoing physical therapy to strengthen my body slowly so that I don’t fatigue again and end up in a rehabilitation center again like I did this past October 2012. December 20, 2013 I celebrated my 2 year of NED!!!! It was the best christmas present that I could have ever asked for!!!! I would love to chat with you sometime if you would be interested just instant message me on my Facebook page The Cancer SPOT.
Blessings to you!
Donna Piunt

As the English say – chin-up. I’d say my prayers are with you, but then I don’t pray and you wouldn’t believe me either, right?
Peace. 🙂

Hi Kim, My name is Nikki and I would love to send you one of our battle cards- please send me your address. We design battle cards as a family and write encouraging scriptures on them for women, men and children braving their battle.
You are a warrior and an overcomer- blessed to have found you. I would love for you to guest post on my web page also.
I look forward to hearing from you
Hello Kim,
I’ve been reading your blog for a while now and I’m always encouraged by what you have to say. Wound you be interested in writing a guest post for my blog?
Sure! I’d be happy to! What kind of thing are you looking for and by when? (:
On Thursdays I post a brave guest post called Thursday Stories. The purpose us to encourage others to be brave for Christ through sharing real life experiences. It can be a big brave like a mission trip or a little brave like talking to the lady at the check out counter. It could be a chosen brave like homeschooling or a thrust-into brave like cancer. Only two requirements:
1. Must be a true story
2. Should showcase God’s faithfulness and goodness in calling you to be brave
Sounds cool! Were you thinking this week or for another week?
I’m keeping you in my prayers for healing. Read a few posts and your memes post was very humorous. Keep fighting and God bless
Happy I found you.
Hi. I just came upon your blog and hope you are still doing well. If you still are praying for other cancer patients, please pleAse pray for my husband, Peter. He has metastatic head and neck cancer and keytruda is our last option. He is 50. We are also followers of Jesus and are praying for a miracle recovery.
I will be praying Julianne, I’m so sorry about this. Please feel free to keep me updated if you want to. Could be either here or morelikecantcer@gmail.com
Hang in there! God is able to give us more than we could ever ask or even imagine ❤
Kim,
Thank you. I came by your blog by accident, even though I know it was no accident. I was in need of your words reflecting and reminding me of God’s grace and love. While I know it is not your intent to be inspirational, you are. Your walk with Jesus is. I thank you for your obedience and sharing of God’s word, because it matters and so do you.

Thank you! Your words are so kind especially at a low point that I feel I’m at right now. Thank you! ❤
Hello Kim,
I came across your blog via Robin Luftig and I have to say I love your writing, attitude, trust in God… pretty much anything you 😉 Do you have an email or twitter or other account to get in touch?
I don’t want to overwhelm you but I just feel that you are part of something bigger.
Thank your for inspiring everyone reading your blog and letting us in to your thoughts and life!
Sabine
From one Stage IV Melanoma fighter to another, congratulations on your latest news. I think what you said about getting too comfortable in the non-cancer zone is absolutely spot on. I have been NED now for quite some time and I feel great most days, but I never want to forget the darkest times as that is when I felt Gods arms wrapped around me like no other time in my life. Prayers for you and all of the others fighting this horrific beast!
Thank you for finding me. I admire your faith and strength.
Kim,
So amazed the similar story we have I couldn’t finish reading before replaying.
I am going back home from work.
(4,65 months median OS after brain metastasis NCI reports)
I’ll take the time to read the whole story and like to keep in touch.
Have a wonderful day on and on and on.
Willie, from Buenos Aires, Argentina
Willie, I’m so sorry to hear you are dealing with this! Are you having much trouble with the brain tumor? I will keep you in prayer, please feel free to stay in touch!

I knew when I first met you, that there was something. Something what? I couldn’t put my fingers on it. Yet, right away your love for Jesus, your calmness, and your sweet disposition about life, just drew me in. God is so good. I pray that our awesome God will continuously pour his grace, merc.y and love on you. Delight yourself in the Lord and he shall give you the desires of your heart
